Robert (Bud) Boldon, 73, a longtime Webster City building contractor, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Alden Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m.

Robert Russell Boldon, son of Elmer and Olive Bly Boldon, was born Jan. 23, 1926 at Alden. The family moved to Webster City, where he graduated from Lincoln High in 1943. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 in quartermaster in the Pacific Theater of Action. Following his discharge, he started in construction in the Webster City area, building and remodeling numerous homes and businesses. On Jan. 21, 1974 he married Margaret Holdgrafer Meyer in South Dakota.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret, sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and LaDonna Boldon, Webster City, Mike and Eileen Boldon, Osceola, step-children, Sharon and Harold Busby, Mount Pleasant, Mike and Suzanne Meyer of Ankeny and Patty and Craig Hill of Webster City, 13 grandchildren, one aunt, Bernice Bly of Des Moines, several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #191, Webster City Moose Lodge and several bowling leagues.
