Curtis Severson, 89, a former Radcliffe resident, died Wednesday morning, April 28, 1999 at his apartment in Jewell, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe. Burial will be in the Radcliffe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday evening at the Boeke Funeral Home in Radcliffe.

Curtis Oren Severson, son of Shure and Jane Reisetter Severson, was born July 18, 1909 in Radcliffe. He attended Lincoln #96 rural school when his family moved to a farm northeast of Radcliffe. On December 4, 1934 he married G. Maxine Hyland. Curtis was employed by the Bergeson Furniture Store in Radcliffe and assisted in the Bergeson funeral business for many years. In 1944 they moved to a farm south of Radcliffe where they lived until retirement in 1979. They purchased a home in Radcliffe. In 1996 he moved to the Senior Housing Apartments in Jewell.

Survivors are his wife, Maxine, daughter Kathleen and son-in-law Richard Mortenson of Jewell; two grandsons, Rick and Mike Mortenson, a sister, Ethel Hinderaker of Radcliffe, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arnold, Everett and Lester; two sisters, Kethyn Elwick and Stella Bjerkestrand, and a granddaughter Robyn Mortenson.

Mr. Severson was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
