Helen Oberender, 76, of Burnsville, MN., died April 27, 1999 at her home. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Burnsville Funeral Home. Burial will be at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens in Burnsville, MN.

Helen Marie Oberender, daughter of John Christian Andersen and Cora Emma Harman, was born on November 18, 1922 in Jewell, Iowa. She was raised and attended school there. She served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and was honorably discharged in 1946. She married Howard Oberender April 24, 1948. She was a homemaker and worked as a cashier at a variety of stores.

She is survived by her husband, Howard, her children Larry and Rick; and her grandchildren John Vandemoore and Christian and Melissa Oberender. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Mary Oberender and her sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Harley Gabrielson.

Mrs. Oberender was a lifelong member of the Federated Church of Jewell.
