Frederick R. Warneke, 82, Rockwell City, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at the Manson Good Samaritan Center, Manson. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, with Rev. Ray Artrip, Pastor of the Church of Christ, Webster City, officiating. Friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Palmer Funeral Home. There will be a Masonic service at 7:0 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include: his wife, Evalyn; daughter, Susan Baxter of Louisville, Kentucky; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Evalyn, in infancy; his parents, William and Gertie (Burma) Warneke; and brother, Russell.

Frederick Richard Warneke was born June 6, 1916 at Oelwein, Iowa. As a youth he moved with his family to Webster City, and graduated from Webster City High School, with the class of 1936. In 1937, he moved to Rockwell City, and formed a partnership with his brother, Russell. They owned and operated the Royal 400 Service Station. In 1945, he was united in marriage to Evalyn Mills in Webster City. He retired in 1977. In 1998, he became a resident of the Manson Good Samaritan Center in Manson. He was a fifty year member of the Masonic Twin Lakes Lodge #478, 32nd Degree Manson, past patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Shriners Club.
