Amy Lucille Swenson, age 95, was called home to be with her Lord on May 5, 2018 while at the Israel Family Hospice House. She had been residing at Timberland in Story City.

Funeral service for Amy Swenson was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Elim Lutheran Church in Randall, Iowa. Burial following in the Greenwood Cemetery rural Ellsworth.

Amy was born January 7, 1923 to Lars and Anna Mae (Olson) Wicks of Roland, Iowa. She married Sinold Swenson on December 14, 1941. Through this union of 74 years they had seven children, 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Amy spent her married life working alongside her husband on a farm in the Radcliffe/Ellsworth area. She built a loving home for her family providing countless homemade meals and tending to the numerous duties of a homemaker. She had been active in Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Radcliffe, giving her children a Christian background. Amy devoted her life to her husband and family. Her kind and loving heart will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memory are children Reggie (Barbara) Swenson of Millville, DE.; Cheryl (Leon) Skeie of Corona del Mar, CA, Lynn (Jacky) Swenson of Grafton, WI., Kathy Hyland (Mark Hill) of Ellsworth, IA, Patty (Wes) Thoreson of Ellsworth, IA., Gary (DeAnn) Swenson of West Des Moines, IA., and Mervin (Chris) Swenson of Maxwell, IA., along with 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Amy is survived by brothers Lamont Wicks, Bob Wicks and a sister Marie Barson.

Proceeding her in death are parents Lars and Anna Mae Wicks; sisters, Marge Eide, Charolett Mieman and Esther Wicks; brothers LaVerne Wicks and Hank Wicks; grandson, Michael Peck; and great-granddaughter Jessica Joy Rees.

Contributions may be directed to Bethany Life, Elim Lutheran Church, or Israel Family Hospice House. Boeke Funeral Home of Radcliffe is in charge of arrangements.
