April 18, 1974Vernon M. Textrum, 70, formerly of Ames, died Thursday morning at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. There is a memorial service from the Lutheran Church in Ankeny at 3 p.m. Saturday and a graveside service at the South Marion Cemetery.
He was born April 22, 1903 to John and Selma (Lundquist) Textrum in Stanhope. His family moved to Ames in 1916. He completed his education at Iowa State University. In 1930, Mr. Textrum moved to Ankeny where he was a building contractor.
He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn and two brothers, Myron of Ames and Lorren of Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Textrum was preceded in death by his wife [Susan Ella Mason] and a brother.
