Marian Stark, 83, of Stratford, passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Boone on Monday evening, February 10, 2014.

She was born on October 12, 1930, in Harcourt, Iowa the daughter of Arvid and Delia (Larson) Peterson.

On May 31, 1948, she married Dwight Stark at the Calvary United Methodist Church parsonage in Stratford, Iowa. Marian was a graduate of the Stratford Community High School. She was a stay at home mother taking care of her family. Marian later helped manage the Stratford swimming pool for a number of years and cooked at the Stratford Care Center before retiring. She enjoyed tending her garden and tulips, watching and caring for the birds and loved spending time with her family.

Marian was a member of the Baptist Church in Stratford.

Her parents; husband Dwight in February of 1989; 1 sister Violet Gay in October of 2008; and 1 brother Donald Peterson preceded her in death.

Survivors include 2 daughters; Julie Bjustrom and husband Bret of Boone and Vicki Stoner of Boone; 2 granddaughters Lyndsey Conlin and husband Sean of Boone, and Kristin Stoner and fiancé J.R. Wymer of Clive, Iowa; 2 grandsons Ryan Bjustrom and wife Amanda of Ft. Dodge, Iowa and Ryley Bjustrom and wife Annie of Chicago, Illinois; 4 great-grandsons Sam Conlin of Boone, Iowa, Dylan and Gavin Bjustrom both of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and Will Bjustrom of Chicago, Illinois; 1 great-granddaughter Olivia Conlin of Boone, Iowa; and a niece Marsha Eppert and husband Keith of Luther, Iowa.
