Esther Poulson

Esther Marie Poulson, 79, passed away at the Mary Greeley Hospital at Ames on Saturday morning, April 1, 1978. She was born October 22, 1898 in Stratford, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. [Anna Christine Carlson] Malmberg. On November 15, 1924 she married Frank Poulson at Valparaiso, Indiana.

She was owner and operator of Esther's Dress Shoppe on Shakespeare Avenue for the past 26 years. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Chamber of Commerce, Order of Eastern Star, Avon Chapter #504, American Legion Auxiliary at Stratford.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include Frank F. of Stratford, one son, Robert of Littleton, Colorado, three grandsons, three sisters: Maggie Iles of Stratford, Agnes Carlson of Dayton and Mabel Beverly of Milford.

Services were held Monday, April 3, 1978 at 1:30 in the Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Leland Eyres officiating. Burial was in the South Marion Cemetery. The Hanson Stark Welin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
