ALBERT POULSON, 79, DIED SUNDAY IN HOME OF DAUGHTER

Albert Poulson, well known former resident of the Stratford community, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H.B. Lincoln, in Chicago on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. He was 79 years old.

The remains arrived here yesterday and last rites will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the home of his son, Lester Poulson, one mile south of Stratford, and in the Swede Bend Mission Covenant church at 2 o'clock.

Besides Mrs. Lincoln and Mr. Poulson, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Fred Kelley of Stanhope, Orris Poulson of Boxholm and Mrs. Elsie Roberts of Lohrville. Two sisters, Mrs. Emma Swanson and Miss Julia Poulson, both of Stratford, also survive.

Their many friends extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

Albert Poulson

Albert Poulson was born April 24, 1864, near Ottumwa, and died in Chicago, Ill., March 5, 1944 at the age of 79 years, 10 months, 10 days.

When he was a year old he came to this vicinity with his parents, John and Marie Poulson, who were pioneer settlers of this part of the state.

On Feb. 26, 1889, he was united in marriage to Alice Anderson. Their home thus established was the source of his greatest contentment and their union was blessed with three daughters and two sons.

He had lived a long and busy life and his short illness and sudden death came as a real shock to his many friends in this community.

Mrs. Poulson died in April, 1943, and he was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

The surviving children are: Ruth Lincoln of Chicago, Ill., Florence Kelley of Stratford, Elsie Roberts of Lohrville, Lester Poulson of Stratford and Oris Poulson of Boxholm. There are 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Emma Swanson and Julia Poulson, both of Stratford, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and a host of good friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, March 10. There was a short prayer service in the Lester Poulson home, followed by a service in the Mission church. The services were in charge of the Rev. F.O. Abraham. Misses Velva Berglund and Margaret Monson sang 3 songs with Mrs. Charles Swedlund playing the accompaniments.

Interment was in the South Marion cemetery. The casket bearers were Earl, Lloyd, Merle, Clifford and Ralph Anderson and Alva Simonson.
