Stratford (Special) - Denzel Peterson, 39, a Stratford farmer, died very suddenly at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at his home, following a heart attack.

The late Mr. Peterson was born and educated in the Stratford Community, and had always lived on a farm northeast of Stratford. He was united in marriage to Jean Kline in 1949. He was a member of the Frederick Sonksen Legion Post of which he was vice commander. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Peterson was president of the Stratford Mutual Telephone Col., president of the North Marion Electric Association, and was a member of the First Baptist Church at Stratford.

Survivors include his widow, Jean; 1 son, Ronald and 2 daughters, Jan and Susan, all at home; 2 brothers, Weldon and Delbert Peterson, both of Stratford; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at Stratford, with the Rev. Harold Richardson in charge. A prayer service for the family will be held at 1:15 p.m. at the church. The Hanson Funeral Home at Stratford is in charge of arrangements.

Military graveside services will be conducted at the South Marion Cemetery.
