FRED E. OLSON

Frederick Emanuel Olson, son of Henry and Anna Olson, was born in Des Moines, June 8, 1878, and passed away at his home south of Stratford on October 9, 1953, at the age of 75 years, 4 months, and one day. At the age of three, he moved to Stratford where he received his schooling and lived most of his life on a farm except for four years spent in Boone.

He was united in marriage to Alice Sophia Hanson on March 8, 1911, in Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters. Surviving to mourn his passing are his wife, Mrs. Fred Olson, and his daughter, Mrs. Loren (Harriett) Hinds.

Mr. Olson was a member of the Methodist Church and was active on several community boards.

Funeral services were held from Calvary Methodist Church on Monday, October 12 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Otto S. Steele officiating. Two vocal selections: "Abide with Me" and "Sunset and Evening Star" wree sung by Mrs. Otto Steele. Pallbearers were Wilhelm Carlson, Edgar Crim, Rudy Gustafson, John Knuth, Franklin Rose, and Weldon Sonksen.

Burial was in the South Marion cemetery.
