Services held for Anna L. Johnson

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Louise Johnson, 84, a lifelong resident of the Stratford community were held Sunday, November 11 in the Stratford Baptist Church. Rev. Ronald Skoog conducted the 2:00 p.m. service. Interment was held in the South Marion Cemetery. Arrangements were completed by Hanson, Stark, Welin Funeral Home, Stratford.

Mrs. Johnson passed away Thursday, November 8 at the Hamilton County hospital in Webster City where she had been a patient since October 22. Prior to her hospitalization she had resided at Grandview Care Center, in Dayton.

Anna L. Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. [Carolina Borg] Spong, was born May 4, 1889 near Stratford. She was reared and educated in the Stratford area. On February 28, 1912 she married Leonard W. Johnson, who proceeded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George (Anna Mae) Bornholt, Stratford, and Mrs. Earlis Neese, Burlington; a brother, Emil Spong, Des Moines; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
