Rudy E. Hubner, 72, Stratford, died about 5 a.m. Thursday at Mary Greeley Hospital.

He was born on a farm south of Stratford. He was a farmer southeast of Stratford until his move into town in 1945.

Mr. Hubner was a member of Calvary Methodist Church. He was a member of the Acorn Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch Mason, Commandery and Shrine, White Shrine, Avon Chapter, Eastern Star, and past commander of the Stratford American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Lulu and a brother, Albert Hubner of Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Calvary Methodist Church with the Rev. Walter Phelps, officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Hanson Funeral Home, Stratford, until Saturday noon.

RUDY E. HUBNER

Funeral services for Rudy E. Hubner were held Saturday, Sept. 9, 1967 at the Calvary Methodist Church in Stratford with the Rev. Walter Phelps officiating. Burial was at the South Marion Cemetery, following masonic and military rites, with the Hanson Funeral Home of Stratford, in charge of arrangements.

Rudy E. Hubner, son of John and Anna [Wiem] Hubner, was born Feb. 25, 1895 on a farm south of Stratford. He was a veteran of World War I, seeing almost a year of active service overseas. He received his honorable discharge from Headquarters Co. 316 Infantry, 79th Division, Pioneer Platoon on June 8, 1919.

He was married Aug. 17, 1922 to Lulu Mitchell at Pipestone, Minn. They resided on a farm southeast of Stratford, until 1945 when they moved to Stratford.

Mr. Hubner was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church in Stratford, Acron Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch Masons of Webster City, Commandery at Boone and Shrine at Des Moines, White Shrine at Webster City and Avon Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Stratford and the American Legion. He was very active in Legion and Masonic organizations, having served as Master of the Acorn Lodge, 1st Commander of the Fredrick W. Sonksen Post of Stratford in 1922, and later as County Commander of the Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Lulu; one brother, Albert of Cedar Rapids, many relatives and a host of friends. After a lingering illness, he died Sept. 7, 1967 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 12 days.
