Victor A. Holstrum Dies Saturday

Victor Arthur Holstrum, 88, route 1, Boone, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, where he was admitted April 24, following an automobile accident.

The late Mr. Holstrum was born Dec. 28, 1882 in Stanhope, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar [Caroline Bjustrom] Holstrum. On Feb. 24, 1909 he married Gertrude Swedlund at Stratford. He was a lifelong member of the South Marion United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gertrude; a daughter and a brother.

Survivors include a son, Gordon; 3 daughters, Mrs. Welhelm (Audrey) Carlson, Mrs. Vernie (Hazel) Carlberg and Mrs. Donald (Ione) Jones; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Anderson; 7 grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at the South Marion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Winter in charge. Burial will be at the South Marion Cemetery.
