Obituary

MRS. DONALD HALSEY

Funeral services for Evelyn Angelyn Halsey were held Thursday, July 8, 1965 at 2 p.m. at the Stratford Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Carlson officiating.

Evelyn Angelyn Halsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed [Olive Glockler] Sterner, was born at Stratford, Iowa, April 15, 1913 and died Monday, July 5, 1965, following a sudden heart attack at her home at Knoxville, Iowa. At the time of her death she was 52 years, 2 months, 19 days old.

She was confirmed in the Stratford Lutheran Church with the class of 1927. She attended the local schools, graduating with the class of 1931, after which she went to Des Moines for employment. While working in Des Moines, she met Donald Halsey, whom she married Sept. 20, 1933.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Halsey; four children, Mrs. Charles (Shirley) Hutchins of Ankeny, Iowa, Mrs. Richard (Lillian) Larson of Peterson, Iowa, Donald Halsey, Jr., of Des Moines, and Robert Lee Halsey with the U.S. Army in Wertzberg, Germany; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sterner of stratford, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Glen (Vernice) Poulson of Knoxville, Iowa, and seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Halsey will be remembered as a warm and considerate friend to all who knew her and as one always ready to be of help.
