Funeral services were held Friday, April 29 for Mrs. Bessie H. Glad, 84, Stratford. Rev. Calvin Rossman conducted the 1:30 p.m. service at the Stratford Lutheran Church, Stratford. Interment was in the South Marion Cemetery, Stratford. Arrangements were completed by Hanson-Stark-Welin, Stratford.

Mrs. Glad passed away Tuesday, April 26 at Hamilton County Hospital, Webster City, where she had been a patient since the previous Sunday.

During the funeral service, songs were sung by the congregation and Mr. Darrell Young. Ardelle Phipps was the organist. Pallbearers were Luvern Stoner, Cecil Thorington, Kenneth Davis, Elmer Angstrom, Paul Leaf and Paul Neese.

Surviving are the widower, Erick, and a son Gunnar William Glad, Los Angeles, Calif.

Bessie Anderson was born east of Stratford and she married Erick Glad in 1920 in the Methodist Church parsonage at Webster City. They farmed north of Stratford where they lived.
