STANHOPE LADY DIED SUNDAY

Mrs. Robert E. Fisher, Northwest of Stanhope, Died - Are Four Children

STANHOPE, Iowa Nov. 2. (special) - Bessie Belle Bethard was the daughter of James Bethard and Caroline Rice. She was born in Batavia, Iowa, May 11, 1876 and died at 6 o'clock Monday at the age of 51 years, five months and 20 days. When but a small girl she moved with her parents to Delta where the most of her girlhood days were spent. She graduated from the Delta high school at the age of 16. She united with the Methodist church and was a faithful member in all its activities. In the spring of 1895, she was united in marriage to Hays Grovier and moved to a farm south of Delta. To this union were born six children, Ralph Waldo, of Los Angeles; Forest Marshall, of Anamosa; Victor Kermit of White River, S.D., and Marcella Lucile, of Stanhope, survive. [there are only four children here and the heading says four]. She was married to Robert E. Fisher at Ottumwa June 3, 1921 and went to live with him on his farm two and three-fourths miles northwest of Stanhope where her remaining days were spent. She united with the Christian church at Stanhope. She was always a faithful Christian member and her many friends remain as a testimonial of a life of loving devotion.
