Robert Ferrari, 68, of Stratford, died following a sudden illness March 25, 1996, at Hamilton County Public Hospital. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Stratford. Burial is at South Marion Cemetery, southeast of Stratford.

Mr. Ferrari was born Oct. 20, 1927, on a farm near Pilot Mound. He was the son of Eugene and Floy (Johnson) Ferrari. He attended Lanyon and Pilot Mound schools, graduating from Pilot Mound in 1947.

In the mid 1950s, he served with the U.S. Army Infantry.

He farmed near Pilot Mound. On Jan. 31, 1954 he married Genevieve Lucile Young. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm southeast of Stratford. In 1976, they were honored for having an Iowa century farm.

He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of American Legion Post 576 of Stratford.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leanne and Mike Lundberg of Pilot Mound and Marsha and Rick Adams of Stratford; and two sons, Rod and Treasa Ferrari and Tony and Angie Ferrari, all of Stratford. Survivors also include two brothers, John and Larry, both of Pilot Mound; a sister, Verna Hall of Ogden; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and again Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church, Stratford.
