FLOYD I. ERICKSON

STRATFORD - Services for Floyd I. Erickson, 81, were held Saturday at South Marion United Methodist Church with burial in South Marion Cemetery, Stratford. Foster Funeral Home, Webster City, was in charge. Mr. Erickson died Wednesday at his home following a sudden illness.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred; sons, Alton, Kansas City, Mo.; LuVerne, Grand Junction; Kenneth, Fairfield; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl, Oakland, Calif.; Elmer, Hardy; Virgil, Stanhope; George, Stratford; and sisters, Mrs. Hazel Anderson, Story City; Mrs. Harold (Edna) Geiger, Oakland; and Roberta Hill, Yakima, Wash.

Mr. Erickson was born in Clear Lake Township of Hamilton County and educated there. On Aug. 11, 1923 he married Mildred Anderson in Boone and the couple farmed in Hamilton County. He retired in 1975 and had just recently moved to Stratford after living on a farm south of Stanhope for many years.

For several years Mr. Erickson was director of the East Marion Band, the City Band of Boxholm and Stratford Municipal Band.

He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Webster City.
