E.F. Erickson Dies at Ames

Ernest F. Erickson, 52, widely known Stanhope farmer, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Mr. Erickson had undergone an operation November 8.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the South Marion Church southeast of Stratford preceded by a brief service at 1 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home. Rev. M. Gunn will officiate and burial will be made in the South Marion Cemetery.

Ernest Franklin Erickson, son of John and Hattie [Gustafson] Erickson, was born Dec. 1, 1901, on a farm five miles southwest of Stanhope and had lived his entire life on the same farm. He as united in marriage Dec. 22, 1936, to Miss Myrtle Peterson and to this union one son was born, Eldean, age 13. Besides his wife and son he is survived by his father, John Erickson of Stratford and two sisters, Mrs. Gottlieb (Mabel) Mogensen of Stanhope and Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Crim of Stratford. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Erickson was preceded in death by his mother who died in 1949. Mr. Erickson was a kind and loving father and will not only be missed by his immediate family but by his many friends.
