Alva A. Arrasmith, 78, longtime former resident of the Webster City area died Saturday at the Bettendorf Health Care Center in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral services will be Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home with burial in Graceland Cemetery.

Alva Antrimn Arrasmith, son of Elija H. and Sarah Ahrens Arrasmith was born December 6, 1905 at Stanhope. He was educated in the Stanhope rural schools. On December 25, 1927 he was united in marriage to Edythe Claflin at Webster City and the couple farmed for many years south of Webster City. The couple moved to Bettendorf in 1980.

He was preceded in death by his wife in April 1982.

He is survived by one son, Wesley Arrasmith of LeClaire, Iowa; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. John (Lillie) Wepel of Webster City.

Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, one in infancy.
