Beloit, Wis.

Christopher S. Eckstein of Beloit, Wis., a former resident of the Stratford area, died very suddenly Monday evening, Feb. 16.

The late Mr. Eckstein, son of John and Mary Johnson Eckstein, was born Nov. 20, 1891 in Boone County. He farmed in the Stratford area until his retirement.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Eckstein of Boone; his wife, Lyra [Smith] of Beloit, Wis.; two sons, John of Stratford, and Robert Eckstein of Savanna, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. K.W. (Evelyn) Erickson of Boone; a sister, Mrs. Walter (Linda) Lippert of Boone; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

The funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be held at the Stratford Methodist Church. Burial will be at the South Marion Cemetery.

Friends may start calling at the Schroeder Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon.
