Funeral services were held Friday at the Church of Christ in Webster City at 1:30 p.m. for Theodore Carlson, 75, longtime Hamilton county resident. The Rev. M.V. Chastain of Webster City and Rev. T.M. Walton of Stanhope officiated with burial in South Marion cemetery southwest of Stanhope.

Theodore Carlson, son of Christian and Maria Carlson, was born April 1, 1880 on a farm in Marion township near Stanhope. He received his education in the Stanhope schools and grew to young manhood in this community. May 20, 1903 he was united in marriage to Jennie Westrum and the couple made their home on the Carlson family farm. The farmed there until December 1941, when they retired and moved into Webster City.

He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters, Ransom and Chester Carlson, Mrs. Beryl (Arlene) Cottington, Wendell Carlson and Mrs. Mervyn (Maxine) Dick all of the Stanhope Stratford vicinity, 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Anderson of Stratford and Mrs. G.A. (Mathilda) Lundquist of Boone.

He was a member of the Church of Christ at Stanhope and was very active in church work. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and a charter member of the Farm Bureau. He served on the Stanhope school board for several years.
