Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Monday, March 16, 1970

Mrs. Marie Merritt, 68, a longtime Webster City resident, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lundy, north of Webster City. Her death was sudden, being attributed to a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Marvin E. Brewer officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Marie Elizabeth Kiesecker, daughter of John and Minnie Klein Kiesecker, was born Sept. 6, 1901, at Webster City and was reared and educated in this community.

She later resided for 10 years in California where she was employed as a dental assistant in the office of her brother, Dr. Frank Kiesecker, at Clearlake Highlands, Calif.

She is survived by the one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Elnora) Lundy of Webster City; two grandchildren, Larry Lundy, serving with the U.S. armed forces with an engineering battalion in South Vietnam, and Paul Lundy, Webster City and one brother, Dr. Frank Kiesecker of Clearlake Highlands.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rose, who died in infancy.

Mrs. Merritt was a member of the Church of Christ.
