Mrs. Morris T. Christenson, 88, longtime Webster City resident, died Friday evening at her home east on Highway 20 following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Paul Mathis officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Mary Etta Slawson, daughter of Moses and Hannah Slawson, was born Aug. 25, 1880, on a farm near Manson, Iowa. She was reared and educated in the Manson community.

She was united in marriage March 27, 1900, to Morris Christenson, and the couple resided at Manson for a short time before moving to Gilmore City and later to Rolfe.

In 1908, they moved to Webster City until 1946 when they moved to Brainerd, Minn. They returned to Webster City in 1965.

She is survived by her husband, four sons and four daughters: James Christenson, Ray Christenson, John Christenson, Dorance (Larry) Christenson and Mrs. Mabel Jondal, all of Webster City, Mrs. Janette Keck and Mrs. Allegra Dayton, both of Fort Dodge; and Mrs. Bernice Short of Minneapolis; 13 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, her parents, one brother, one sister and a half-brother.

Mrs. Christenson was baptized at Pine Center, Minn. When her health permitted, she attended the Calvary Baptist church in Webster City.
