Mrs. Maude Cash Ryan, daughter of Frank I. Cash and Nancy Johnson Cash, came to Webster City with her parents in her infancy. She was born in February, 1868.

Mrs. Ryan was educated in the Webster City schools and enlarged her education at Cook County Normal school in Chicago and at Columbia university in New York City.

For many years she was a teacher in the schools of Des Moines where she met and married William R. Ryan. They came to Webster City to live. Mr. Ryan was elected city clerk which position he held until his death in 1925.

Mrs. Ryan was a member of the Congregational church here and a charter member of the Six O'clock Literary club.

Since retiring from teaching, Mrs. Ryan has made her home with her sister, Emma Cash Towle, in New Hampshire.

Besides her sister, she leaves her nephew, Frank J. Cash, now vice-president of Associated Factors Inc. in San Francisco; also her nephew, Ralph E. Towle Jr., of New York City and her niece, Maude Towle Wallin of Philadelphia.
