Patricia Ann Crim, 92, of Stanhope, Iowa went to her Lord early in the morning of October 19, 2017. Her family and caregivers surrounded and comforted her through her last days.

“Patti” was the fourth of five children born to Hugh and Edith Borg Hayes of Boone on September 8, 1925. By the time she was four years old the Great Depression had taken its toll on the family. Hugh and Edith divorced and the family was split apart. The two youngest, Patti and Frannie were adopted by a farm couple, Theodore and Ethel (Sudderberg) Lundquist when Patti was six. She lived on that farm until her death.
She was raised in the South Marion United Methodist Church near Stratford. She attended country school and graduated from Stanhope High School in 1943. After high school worked at Look Magazine in Des Moines.

On April 5, 1947 she married Halbert P. Crim at South Marion. Halbert took over farming the Lundquist farm in 1948. Here, Halbert and Patti farmed and raised their family.

She is survived by her son LaVerne (Sandy) Crim of Webster City, IA, Dale (Marilyn) Crim of New Paris, IN, Gary (Michelle) Crim of Ames, IA, and Marcia (Joel) Fritz of Webster City; Seven granddaughters; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and Murphy the cat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Halbert, grandson Noah Fritz, brothers Richard and Gene Hayes, and sisters Lorraine Johnson and Frances East.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at South Marion United Methodist Church, 1392 390th Street, Stratford, IA. Interment will be at the South Marion Cemetery, Stratford, IA. Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, October 23, 2017 at the Calvary United Methodist Church, 901 Moore Street, Stratford, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be determined at a later date.
