Virval Christina Lee Widick, 88, of Webster City, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.

Virval Christina Lee, the daughter of Daniel (Edd) and Margaret (Carpenter) Lee was born June 10, 1929 in Lehigh, Iowa. Virval attended the Lehigh Public School, and in her teens, Virval was a telephone operator.

On October 18, 1947, Virval was united in marriage to DeWayne Frank Widick of Lehigh at the Nazarene Parsonage in Webster City. Virval was a farm wife, mother, grandmother, and a great grandmother. For several years Virval worked at the CDS in Stratford before they moved to Boone, IA. She loved to embroider, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed fishing and camping with many trips to Minnesota and Arkansas. Her and DeWayne hosted the family reunion campout weekends for 20 years. Before DeWayne death on July 14, 2015 the couple moved to the Crestview Apartments in Webster City.

Virval is survived by her four children, Denver (Georgia) Widick of Badger, Bette J. Widick of Fort Dodge, Tina (Dale) Carlberg of Stratford and David (Patty) Widick of Jewell; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and her three sisters, Audrey (Wayne) Salgren, Jackie (Ray) Powers and Diann (Craig) Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, DeWayne, her parents, a granddaughter Jennifer Kloss and her 4 sisters and two brother, Mary Wells, Daisy Nemechek, Irene Trask, Virginia Cusey, Daniel Lee and Fred Lee.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
