Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Thursday, July 6, 1972

Mrs. Ramona H. Russell, 71, a longtime Webster City area resident, died early this morning at the Hamilton County hospital. She had been in ill health since having suffered a stroke in 1969.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Homer A. Doak officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Ramona Huddlestun, daughter of Bascum and Lenore Layne Huddlestun, was born Jan. 10, 1901. She received part of her education in the Webster City schools but was graduated from high school in Dubuque.

She attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, being graduated in 1923.

She was united in marriage Sept. 17, 1926, to James C. Russell, and the couple made their home in Chicago, moving to the family farm northeast of Webster City in 1928.

Mr. Russell preceded her in death March 3, 1968, and following his death she moved into Webster City.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Patricia) Anderson of Bourbonnais, Ill.; two grandchildren, James and Lynn; four nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son in infancy; her parents and one sister, Mrs. Mable Loring.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Congregational; the Tri-T, Order of Eastern Star and the Married Nurses club.
