Edwin Harold Pulis, 83, Webster City, died at his residence on Monday, Dec. 21, 1998. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Blairsburg Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 191. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday and prior to the service on Wednesday.

Edwin Harold Pulis, son of Harley and Cora Rottink Pulis, was born Feb. 18, 1915 at Clarksville, IA. He received his education at Clarksville. During W.W. II, he served with the U.S. Army as a telegrapher in the European Theater of Action. On July 29, 1945, he married Mary Lou Wasson at Webster City. The couple resided at Waterloo. In 1946, they started farming northwest of Blairsburg. They moved to Webster City in 1976. He retired from farming in 1985.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Lou; a son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Lisa Pulis of Blairsburg, daughter Susan Fyten of Avon, CT, grandchildren, Allyson Fyten, Matt, Dan, Jacob, Sarah and Hannah Pulis; a sister LaVonne Rhoades, Davenport, two nieces.

He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel H. Pulis in 1966, and his parents.

He was a member of the U.C.C. Congregational at Blairsburg, American Legion of Ellsworth and Farm Bureau.
