Daily Freeman Journal, Webster City, Iowa, Friday, April 22, 1938

Arthur L. Blue was born April 22, 1873, and peacefully passed away from the cares of this life April 16, 1938 at the age of 65 years, lacking six days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Anna Seamands [Seamonds] Feb. 14, 1894. To this union four children were born; one son, Guerney [Gurney] Blue, and three daughters, Mrs. Severt Berven, Kamrar; Mrs. Harry Cleckner and Mrs. Robert McFerren, of this city. His beloved wife preceded him in death Sept. 30, 1933.

In addition to the above named son and daughters, he leaves to mourn his passing, eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Stringer, of Iowa Falls, and Mrs. Freeman Fuller, of Story City, and many other relatives and friends.

Mr. Blue was born in Coatsville, Mo. and he spent his boyhood days near Story City, in which place he attended school. But he spent the greater part of his life in or near to Webster City. For nine years he was the proprietor of the Lawn Hill grocery store, and for seven years he lived on farms a few miles east of Webster City.

For many years he was a member of the Methodist church in Webster City. He was highly respected by all who knew him, a loving husband and an affectionate father.

Now his life's work has been completed and he has laid aside the tools which kept his busy hands occupied. He has left his dear ones a heritage of treasured memories. Nothing can rob the heart of that love and affection which have been wrought into life's history. The loving words, the gentle deeds, the sympathy and tenderness that have enriched our experiences are ours to cherish as long as life shall last.

He held the Christian hope of Eternal Life. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, he believed in the eternal love of the Heavenly Father and such faith added luster to his life.

Now he has passed from the activities of earth but the love of his dear ones for him, bridges the grave and gives them the hope of one day meeting and greeting him again in the land of fadeless day.
