J.H. SEAMANDS [or is it SEAMONDS} DIES AT HOME

Funeral Services Will Be Held at the Foster Funeral Home

John Henry Seamands, 85, died this morning at 2:[?] o'clock at his home, 1410 Second street, death being caused by ailments incident to old age. He had been in poor health since early last summer.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Foster funeral home. The Rev. Manson E. Miller will officiate and burial will be made in Graceland cemetery.

Mr. Seamands is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Seamands, who is confined to her home with illness. She has been in very poor health since August. There are also seven children - Mrs. G.E. Dye, of Earlham; Mrs. Albert Wells of St. Paul, Mrs. Arthur Blue, east of this city, Mrs. Clyde Merritt, of Morton, Minn., Henry Seamands, of this city; Mrs. Earl Doolittle, of this city, and Arthur Seamands, also of this city.

There are also 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Three children preceded him in death.

Mr. Seamands was born in Ohio Jan. 30, 1847. He was married to Elizabeth Jane Howard in Jackson county, Oct. 29, 1869, and with the exception of three or four years, the family has lived in Hamilton county and Webster City.

About 50 years ago he joined the Methodist church, but when the family moved to the Cass Center neighborhood he joined the Christian church which membership he had since retained.
