Mildred (Mrs. Harry) Cleckner, 87, former longtime Webster City resident, died Friday at the Fort Myers Community Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. She had been a patient there for 18 days and had been in ill health for the past six months.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City with the Rev. Paul D. Williamson officiating and burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.

Mildred L. Blue, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Seamonds Blue, was born Nov. 4, 1895 on a farm near Jewell. She was reared and educated in the Kamrar vicinity and attended Ellsworth College at Iowa Falls where she earned a normal training teacher's certificate. She taught for several years in rural schools in Hamilton County.

She was married to Harry A. Cleckner April 3, 1920, and the couple lived in Webster City. She assisted her husband in the operation of the Cleckner Plumbing Business. For many years they spent their winters in Florida and in the fall of 1976 they moved to that state, making their home in North Fort Myers.

She is survived by her husband, one sister, Pearl (Mrs. Robert) McFerren of Fort Myers, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ensign Gerald A. Cleckner, who died in the South Pacific in 1945; her parents; a brother and a sister, Gurney Blue and Frankie (Mrs. Severt) Berven.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and served as treasurer of the church for six years. She was past matron of the Eastern Star and a past worthy high priestess of the White Shrine. She was also a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and past president of the Gold Star Mothers. She had also served as secretary of the Webster City Women's Club.
