Judith Blue Dies Suddenly At Hospital

Judith Ann Blue, 14, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gurney Blue of this city, died at 9:45 Thursday evening at the Hamilton county hospital.

She attended school Monday morning and came home ill at noon. She was admitted to the hospital Tuesday evening. Cause of death was virus pneumonia.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Methodist church with the Rev. C.H. Pettersen officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the church from 11:30 until 3 p.m. Monday. Foster's funeral home is in charge of services.

Judith Ann Blue, daughter of Gurney A. and Marcelean Blue, was born Jan. 16, 1941 at Hamilton co. hospital in Webster City. She had always made her home at the family farm two miles southeast of Webster City. She had attended the Webster City schools and was an honor student in the eighth grade.

She is survived by her parents, three brothers and four sisters: James, with the army air force stationed at El Paso, Texas; Ronald G. Blue and LaVonne K. Blue, both at home; Mrs. Chester (Marjorie) Neese of Fergus Falls, Minn., Richard Derscheid of Clarion; Mrs. Lloyd M. (Lois) Hanson of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Donald (JoAnn) Heath of Waterloo.

Also surviving are her grandmother, Mrs. George Friday of Fort Dodge; five aunts and one uncle, Mrs. Robert McFerren, Mrs. Harry Cleckner, Mrs. Severt Berven, all of Webster City, Emory Friday and Mrs. Earl Fardy, both of Fort Dodge, Mary Ollie Friday of Washington, D.C.; 13 nieces and nephews and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Marcelyn, who died in infancy.

Judith Ann was baptized in the Methodist faith and was a member of the Methodist church. She was prominent and active in church and Sunday school work and also in 4-H club work.

An excellent student at school, she was popular among her classmates and a leader in school activities.
