Mrs. Verne (Blanche) Hanson, 67, a longtime Webster City resident, died Saturday evening at the Hamilton County hospital. She had been in failing health since January.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. David Ludeker officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Blanche Jennings, daughter of Alvin L. and Rosetta Bramblett Jennings, was born July 27, 1904 at Ashland, Ill., where she was reared and educated. She was united in marriage in 1922 to Elmer Norem, and the couple made their home in Fairmont, Minn. Four children were born to this union: Dorothy, Eleanorea, Alva and Bonnie. Mr. Norem preceded her in death in 1937.

She was united in marriage in October, 1938 to Verne Hanson, and the couple had always since made their home in Webster City.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters and one son: Mrs. Orville (Eleanorea) Jondal, Webster City, Mrs. Ed (Bonnie) Weeks, Wapello, Mrs. Ronald (Karen) Cross and Terry L. Hanson, both of Webster City; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Alva Norem, and one daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Dorothy) Coleman; her parents, one brother and one sister.

She was a member of the Baptist church in Illinois.
