John Hamman, 51, died at 7:15 a.m. today at his home six miles northwest of Williams following an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Foster funeral home with Rev. Z.J. Hougham officiating. Burial will be in Cass Center cemetery.

Jonathan Isaac Hamman, son of James and Mattie Hamman, was born August 16, 1900, on a farm near Milltown, Ind. He was reared and educated in that community, coming to Iowa in 1917 and engaging in farm work in the Webster City area.

He was united in marriage on Aug. 3, 1926 to Pearl Shafer and since their marriage they had farmed in Hamilton county.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Waters of Des Moines; Ruby Hamman, Roger, Sharon and Lyle, all at home. One granddaughter, Janice Waters, and his mother, Mrs. Mattie Hamman of Hardinsburg, Ind.; one sister and one brother, Mrs. Noel (Pearl) McDonald of Hardinsburg, and Charles Hamman of Marengo, Ind.; two nephews and one niece, also survive. He was preceded in death by his father who died in 1942.

Mr. Hamman was baptized in the United Brethren faith and was a member of the Mulberry Center church. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges at Blairsburg.

A kindly, neighborly man, Mr. Hamman had made many friends during his residence in Hamilton county.
