Fred M. Studley, 83, lifelong resident of Hamilton county, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient the past four days. He had been in ill health the past several years.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. James Shields officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Frederick Moore Studley, son of George and Rebecca Studley, was born Dec. 7, 1877, on a farm in Cass township.

When he was six years old, he moved with his parents to a farm near Kamrar and he was reared and educated in the Kamrar community. He was united in marriage Oct. 9, 1921, to Nettie Whaley Shafer.

Mr. and Mrs. Studley farmed north of Stonega until 1946, when they retired and moved into Webster City to their home at 412 Columbia St.

Surviving are his wife and one son, George Studley of Webster City; five granddaughters, Trudy, Lorinda, Ileana, Violetta and Gwenna Studley; one step-son, the Rev. Ralph Shafer of Winfield, Kan.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Alberta Hanson of Webster City, and several step-grandchildren.

Mr. Studley was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mrs. Milton Smith, and two step-sons.
