Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Clendenning, 80, longtime Webster City resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. A.E. Rau officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Clendenning died Monday morning at Crestview Manor, following an illness of several years.

Ruth E. Hall, daughter of Charles C. and Sarah Hall, was born Nov. 30, 1883, at Ledyard, Iowa, and was reared and educated in that community. She later attended State Teachers college at Cedar Falls and taught in schools in Kossuth county for several years.

She was united in marriage to Charles M. Clendenning, and the couple made their home in Washington, Iowa, for a short time before moving to Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1926; by one daughter, Sarah Jane, who died at the age of two, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Ola Mae) Richardson of Woodland Hills, Calif., three grandsons, Michael K. Richardson, stationed at the Walter Reed Medical Research Center at Washington, D.C., Chris Charles Richardson, with the air force at Ft. ? Va., and James D. Richardson, of Woodland Hills, Calif., and one nephew, John McGilligan of Webster City.

Mrs. Clendenning was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church. She was also a member of the ? and the Woman's Relief Corps. She was a charter member of the ? club.
