Opal M. Butler, 77, Webster City, died April 23, 1993 at her home. Services were held today at Faith United Methodist Church. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.

Opal Mae Schweppe, daughter of George and Lorena (Riley) Schweppe, was born May 1, 1915 in Kamrar. She graduated from Kamrar High School in 1932. She then attended Webster City Junior College, receiving a degree in education.

On Feb. 13, 1936, she married Roy R. Butler at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed northeast of Webster City. She was a homemaker. The couple retired and moved to Webster City in 1973.

She is survived by husband, Roy; sons and daughters-in-law, Harland and Roselyn and Miles and Jackie, all of Webster City, Patrick and Maxine of Spirit Lake; daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen and Gilbert Withers of Denison, Kathryn and Terry Lenz of Fort Collins, Colo., Ann and Dick Koch of Medina, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Milford of Jewell; Edwin "Bud" of Webster City; and sister, Neva Eckstein of McAllen, Texas.

She was a member of Mulberry Helping Hands, a former 4-H leader and was active in her church.
