Mabel E. Jondal, 87, of Webster City died Sunday morning, April 10 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames where she had been a patient for two days. She had been in failing health the past six months.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Friends may call at Foster Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today (Monday, April 11).

Mabel Evaline Christenson, daughter of Morris and Mary Slawson Christenson, was born Jan. 9, 1901 at Gilmore City. She received her education at Gilmore City and Manson.

On Oct. 28, 1920, she married Bert S. Jondal at Fort Dodge. The couple farmed near Duncombe for several years and then moved to Webster City.

Following the death of her husband in October of 1957, she continued to reside in Webster City.

She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Mrs. Ben) Huisinga and Mary (Mrs. Russell) Powell of Webster City; one son, Howard Jondal of Webster City; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Keck of Fort Dodge and Bernice Short of Minneapolis, Minn.; and four brothers, James Christenson, Dorance Christenson and Raymond Christenson of Brainerd, Minn., and John Christenson of Blairsburg.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, her parents, one brother and one sister.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Webster City.
