Alice E. Valina Nelson was born near Algona, Jan. 1, 1887. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith to which faith she remained faithful to the end.

She was married to Martin Sandal, Sept. 1, 1915. To this union were born seven children, Everett, Merle, Evelyn, Marjorie, Helen, Charles and the baby which preceded her in death. She passed away at their farm home east of Stanhope Oct. 7, 1930, being 43 years, 9 months and 7 days at her death. She leaves to mourn her passing, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nelson, of Los Angeles, a brother, Victor, of Swea City, and two sisters, Mrs. William Blandford and Mrs. Mervin Williamson, of Los Angeles, Calif., and many other relatives and friends who extend to the bereaved family their sincere sympathy in their great loss of a loving, faithful mother.
