Peter Saddler, 78, father of Mrs. Steve Linn who formerly resided at Stanhope, died Monday morning at the Ida McVane Memorial home at Crivitz, Wis.

Funeral services are pending and the body will arrive Tuesday morning in Webster City and will lie in state at the Foster funeral home.

Mr. Saddler was a former sheriff of Floyd county, Iowa, and also resided at Republic, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Myrta Cagley.

He is survived by one son and one daughter, John Saddler of Grant's Pass, Ore., and Mrs. Steve (Ruth) Linn of Wooster, Ohio; and one grandson.

Funeral services for Peter Saddler, 78, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. T.M. Walton of Goldfield officiating and with burial in the Lawn Hill cemetery near Stanhope.

Ivan Hutson was vocalist and Mrs. William Steinbruch was organist.

Pallbearers were Bill Parker, Bud Ober, Carl Schmidt, Roy Davis, Ron Setchell and Ralph McConnell.
