Prof. and Mrs. Runkle Lose Baby

It is with the deepest regret the Record learns of the death of little Maxine, the younger daughter of Prof. and Mrs. F.C. Runkle, who passed away at the home in Ellsworth Monday morning. Death resulted from acute Brights disease. The child was seriously sick last winter and has been very weak all summer. Recently she became very ill, threatened at first with pneumonia which finally developed into Brights disease. Maxine was but eighteen months old. Her loss is mourned by her parents and her little sister, Maurine, a three and a half year old child, and by the other relatives and hosts of friends of the family here and throughout Hamilton county.

Funeral services were held at the home in Ellsworth yesterday morning, conducted by Rev. Hjortholm, and at Stanhope, conducted by Rev. Christopher Shaw, pastor of the Christian church, and the body was laid at rest in the Stanhope cemetery [Lawn Hill Cemetery].

The Record joins the friends of Prof. Runkle and family in extending its heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing parents in their bereavement.
