AGED STRATFORD WOMAN IS DEAD

Mrs. Andrew Peterson Dies

STRATFORD, Iowa, April 22 - (Special) - Mrs. Andrew Peterson, an old pioneer resident of this community, passed to her reward at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Hanson, of Stanhope. She was 82 years old. She was born in Sweden and immigrated to this country and settled in Illinois in [possibly 1869?]. She [Hedda Marie Carlson] was married to Andrew Peterson and to this union were born three boys, Charles G., Henry and Philip, all living in the nearby community, and one daughter, Mrs. Alice Hanson, of Stanhope.

Mr. and Mrs. Peterson moved from their farm near Stanhope several years ago, Mr. Peterson having preceded his wife to the great beyond some years ago. Mrs. Peterson was a very active woman until about three weeks prior to her death when she contracted a cold from which she was not strong enough to recover.
