Clara Doris Doerges, daughter of William and Christine Doerges, was born June 17, 1862 in Warsaw, Ill., and died Friday, May 26, 1950, at her home in Stanhope, Iowa, at the age of 87 years 11 months and 9 days.

After the death of her parents, and when she was nine years old, she went to St. Louis, Mo., to make her home with friends. She was educated and reared in St. Louis and was united in marriage there to Frederick J. Dieterich on May 1, 1879. To this union five daughters were born: Mrs. Clara Ela of Colorado Springs, Colo., Caroline Dieterich of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Helen Pardee of Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. Anna Small of Wrenshall, Minn. Bessie Dieterich died in infancy. In 1890 the family moved to Kansas City, Mo., and where Mr. Dieterich preceded her in death in 1899.

March 1, 1901 she was united in marriage to Ray Parker of Stanhope, Iowa, and soon after their marriage they moved to Stanhope where their son, William Parker, was born. Mr. Parker preceded her in death in 1931. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Besides the four daughters and one son she is survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Parker was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was confirmed in 1874. The past forty years she has been a member of the Stanhope Christian church. She was a woman of sterling character, kind and loving nature. During her many years residence in the neighborhood where she passed away she had made many warm friends for her life was given to good works.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 28, 1950 at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. C.F. Schmidt and Rev. Robert Hudson officiating. Ivan Hutson sang "In the Garden" accompanied by Mrs. W.C. Fastenow at the organ. Burial was made on the family lot in Lawn Hill cemetery at Stanhope. Pallbearers were Robert Gumtau, Herbert Granville, Fred Vogelsang, Roy Davis, Arthur Malmberg and E.R. Knight.
