D.J. KNIGHT, 83, IS DEAD

Funeral Services for Stanhope Resident Sunday Afternoon

STANHOPE, Iowa, Dec. 21 - Daniel J. Knight, 83, died this morning at 6:40 o'clock at his home in Stanhope, death being caused by heart trouble and ailments incident to old age.

He had been in poor health for some time.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the D.R. Knight home at Stanhope at 1 o'clock and at 1:30 o'clock at the Stanhope Methodist church. The Rev. C.F. Schmidt will officiate and burial will be made in Stanhope [Lawn Hill Cemetery]. Foster's in charge.

Mr. Knight had lived in Stanhope all his life and was widely known.

He farmed near Stanhope until 22 years ago when he retired and moved to town. His wife [Martha Ritter Knight] died in 1932.

He leaves three sons, Dannie, James and Eugene, all of Stanhope, and 11 grandchildren. One daughter died eight years ago.

Mr. Knight was a member of the Methodist church.
