Alice Lavina Sneesby, daughter of James and Mary Sneesby, was born May 8, 1867 at Dixon, Ill. When she was five years old, she moved with her parents to Stanhope, Iowa, the family being pioneer settlers in Hamilton county.

At the age of 19, she was united in marriage to Howard C. Ferguson and to this union four children were born. One son, John, died in infancy and one son, Roy H., died in 1918.

In 1909, Mrs. Ferguson homesteaded at Chugwater, Wyo., returning to Iowa 20 years ago and had resided most of the time with her son, Russell Ferguson, at Livermore, Iowa.

Besides her son, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George (Lola) Fisher of Nashua, Mont. There are also three grandchildren, Mrs. LaVonne Hawes of Portland, Ore., Jack Ferguson of Livermore, and Mrs. Eunice Glaede of Cottage Grove, Ore. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert E. Sneesby of Chugwater and several nieces and nephews including Miss Victoria Bute of Stratford.

Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the Methodist church at Stanhope.

A generous and neighborly lady, Mrs. Ferguson's kind disposition and her hospitality will be remembered by all who knew her.
