MRS. LOWRIE, AGE 55, DIES

Stratford Woman Had Been Ill at Hospital Here One Week

Mrs. Josie Lowrie, 55, of Stratford, died shortly after noon today at the hospital where she had undergone an operation about a week ago.

Funeral services are pending. Miller's, of Stratford, in charge.

Mrs. Lowrie is survived by her son, Philip, and one sister, Mrs. Kate Jacobson, of Stratford.

Mrs. Lowrie was born and reared in the Stratford community, her parents being Mr. and Mrs. Joe [Celestia Hakes] Evans. The father, who was a Civil war veteran, died at his home in Stratford about four years ago.

For a time Mrs. Lowrie made her home in Montana, but for the past several years she had lived in Stratford.
