Webster City Freeman, Webster City, Iowa, Monday, December 17, 1923

Alice Ruby Peterson was born to Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Peterson, May 19, 1896 at their home two miles south of Stanhope. Here she grew to young womanhood and graduated from the Stanhope high school with the class of 1913.

She became a member of the Church of Christ in Stanhope in early childhood and was always faithful to the Sunday school and church.

Feb. 20, 1915 she was united in marriage to Earl S. Davis and to this union were born three children, the youngest of whom is only two years old. The year following her marriage she moved with her husband to the home three and one-half miles southwest of Stanhope, where she resided until her death, Dec. 11, after five weeks of great suffering which she endured without a word of complaint. Mrs. Davis was a faithful, loving wife and mother, cheerful in her outlook on life and did all she could to make her home one of happiness.

She leaves to mourn her loss her parents, two brothers, Archie A. and Lloyd A., both of Stanhope, her husband, one daughter, Kathryn, and two sons, Kenneth and Marvin, besides a host of relatives and friends, who will keenly feel her loss.

The funeral services were held from the home at 1:30 and at 2 o'clock from the Christian church in Stanhope, conducted by Rev. G.H. Dick. Interment was made in the Lawn Hill cemetery southeast of town.
