The funeral of Mrs. F.E. Ristrim was held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the M.E. Church. Services at the house were at 1:30. The funeral was conducted by the pastor Rev. Carl Hammer and the remains were laid to rest in the Lawn Hill Cemetery.

Bessie Iowa Wilbur was born Oct. 19, 1873, in Marion township, Hamilton county. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Wilbur, are both dead. They moved to Iowa from New York state in 1866 and settled on a farm in East Marion community and here Bessie grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage May 1, 1907 to Frank E. Ristrim and to this union was born a daughter, Gayle Lois Ristrim, who is in her early teens.

Following Mr. and Mrs. Ristrim's marriage, they moved to Stanhope, where they resided until death claimed her on Saturday evening, July 5, at the age of 50 years, eight months and seventeen days.

Mrs. Ristrim lived an unselfish and helpful life, always thoughtful of the needs of others. She was a kind and loving wife and a sacrificing mother and will be greatly missed by her young daughter and her husband.

Besides her husband and daughter, she leaves four sisters, Luella Wilbur, Mrs. Austin Groves, Hattie Wilbur and Mabel Wilbur who reside at Stanhope; also a half brother Elmer Wilbur of New York state.

Mrs. Ristrim was stricken with uric poisoning in August, 1923 and since that time her eyesight had been rapidly failing and during the past few months she had been unable to read and at times could scarcely see, yet she was uncomplaining and worked beyond her endurance. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church and an active worker in the ladies aid and the Home Missionary society. For a number of years she had been recorder for the Royal Neighbors of this community and was a member of the W.C.T.U. She also took an active interest in the club work at Stanhope.

Friends and neighbors but she will live in the memory of those whom she has cheered on the way.
